D.I.Y. Paint Tube Organizer Wall Unit.
I saw a couple different ideas on the internet how to Organize the never ending Paint tube piles on the your work station.
This is the one I saw cool idea simple design easy
So I tried them this was my first attempt
I wanted a feminine feel than the one the other guy built so I added a frame this is 16" x 20". and spray painted the old scrap wood Lime green and white... I used a small piece of peg board to mark the were the nails would go otherwise it would make my brain hurt... making them all a line. It's going to get messed so I didn't care to much about the aesthetics of the piece. but when all said and done it prettier than it was functional as i would have liked. The wood I used was too thin for this project so hence the nails were smaller than the original.. and I could only fit one paint tube per nail. Not working here I have tons of paint!!!
So with thinking cap on "Way out of the box" lol I looked around the house for things that hang..
Which brings me to my own little creative invention...
What you'll need :
- one frame this one is squared and been sitting for a year now but you can get one at goodwill for like $2.00/ $20.00 depending how big you want it. Who cares it's gonna get messy anyway
- half inch piece of wood to fit inside frame I had some laying around for me $0.00 but a small piece at Home depot is like $5.00 or $6.00 If you have a mill by you they sell scraps real cheap in nice wood too... Again It's going to get messy save the money for more PAINT!!!
- binder clips the ones at staples are not good as the small are too small and the large won't move I like the hot pink ones :D but they kept breaking.... cheaply made i paid over $8.00 for 2 packs of 40
- I found these at walmart $7.98 for you get 200 much better deal too!the walmart ones fit perfectly
- couple packs of Mainstay Metal Shower curtain rings they were $.87 cents for a 12 pk OH Boi!!! I grab all they had
- Cup holder or the little screws that look like them that you use for framing... Wire hanging screws I had tons of those and the dowels fit right into the holes.
I have another frame and nice piece of wood that I can stain and clear for easy cleaning I really like this as it's functionality is so much better the rings help them slide when looking for a certain color and the detach easy either by the ring or the binder clip
Now everything is up off my station and hanging by my easel for under $20.00
Hope you like it your thoughts are welcomed in comments below
Have an Amazingly Artistic Day!!
